As India inches closer to the 75th anniversary of Independence, scores on Human Index remain abysmal. Despite all the commitment to achieving targeted SDGs, the concentric circles of marginalization and depravation haven’t improved as expected. The Covid 19 pandemic which caught everyone unaware and unprepared pushed us a few milestones behind.
It is now increasingly agreed upon that to accelerate the growth plane, it is critical to redesign the current approach by empowering people to identify and pursue their own paths for a meaningful life. As the Human Development Report 2020 aptly stated, like a three-legged stool, capabilities, action, and values are inseparable in how we think about human development in the context of the Anthropocene.
With a keen insight to the existing situation and a desire to enable a tangible shift, professionals with varied experience and expertise came together to create a platform to implement the ideas which would drive impact. Thus, in August 2017, a not-for-profit organization aptly named Ideas to Impact (i2i) foundation was registered with its head office in Delhi.
i2i foundation is committed to empower individuals and communities, and work on issues which are diverse in range, deep in terms of reach, and demonstrable when it comes to impact. The Foundation has a tax-exempt status under section 12AA of the Income Tax Act, 1961. All donations and grants to i2i foundation are eligible for an 80G deduction.
